    Discover child support services available to support our rangatahi and tamariki in the Northland region.

    Our Northland region is part of the Northern region through Health New Zealand. If you live in Whangārei, anywhere in the Bay of Islands including Kerikeri or Russell, in Hokianga or the Kauri Coast, and even way up in Kaitaia or Cape Reinga; there are support services available for you and your children.

    It includes Whangārei Hospital, Bay of Islands Hospital, Dargaville Hospital and Kaitaia Hospital as well as Hokianga Health

    You can access Child Development Services through a referral from your GP (doctor), Plunket nurse, or a pediatrician at the hospital. Take a look at the providers in your region below.

    Child Health Centre

    The Northland Child Health Centre provides assessments of medical, physical and developmental problems for children in Northland aged 0 – 16 years.

    The services they provide include:

    • Behaviour Support Specialists

    • Autism assessments

    • Dietians and health lifestyle supports

    • Occipational therapy, physiotherapy and physchology

    • Speech language therapy

    • Visits from Neurodevelopmental therapists
