The expo will feature over 40 disability support networks, disability service providers, and community organisations. It’s a wonderful opportunity for disabled people and their families, as well as the wider community, to find out about the support services and opportunities that are available in the Wairarapa.
There will be workshops will running through the day, with the morning series repeated in the afternoon to give everyone a chance to participate.
Workshop 1: An update on the NZ Disability Strategy. Presented by Alan Ryan, Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People.
Workshop 2: Getting ready for an emergency: a new preparedness guide. Presented by Renee Santos, Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO).
Workshop 3: What is Individualised Funding and what is coming next. Presented by Simon Anderson, Manawanui.
Workshop 4: Disability discrimination. Presented by Rachael Wiltshire, Aotearoa Disability Law.
Firstport and EASIE Living will be there, so come along and say hi.
The expo is presented by Good Lives Wairarapa in collaboration with People First and the Wairarapa Community Action Group with support from the Carterton District Council.
