The Hector dolphins were the highlight
An anonymous review
We visited the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes in Punakaiki. The pathway leading to the main viewing area is wheelchair accessible.
There is a small section of pathway which is not wheelchair accessible, but this may not limit people's experience too much if accessibility is a consideration. Plan to spend at least one night/two days in the area as there is heaps to do!
Highlight: Visiting the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes on a day when the blowholes are active is always a highlight - it is such an impressive sight! However on this day the Hector dolphins were the highlight!
The area is often busy so having a wide, well-maintained pathway to and from the main viewing points helps get there without too many hassles.
