The library is user friendly to anyone with mobility issues. It's well laid out with various areas to sit and read, use computers, meet with friends, attend events or just a place to be social. There's easy access from the street through wide automatic doors, a generous foyer area with full access the customer services, and friendly staff who can help with general information or assist with finding books. The toilet on the ground floor is clean and easy to access and move about in. There is a lift at the rear of the library for access to the second level and a second lift for larger wheelchairs accessible by asking the friendly staff. The covered carpark building is accessed from the back of the library at ground level and the first level.

The Invercargill Public Library is welcoming, the staff are friendly and helpful, it's a nice place to visit, read or socialise or just have some quiet time.

Highlight: Interacting with the staff, being able to join friends and have a cup of tea and a bite to eat. Being warm, dry and having a view out of the window.

The features make it easy and fun, no stress. There's plenty of space to move and turn in a wheelchair, and helpful friendly staff make the visit even better.
