Kite making has long been associated with Matariki as a symbol of celebration and communication with the heavens. This workshop will explore the whakapapa of the natural materials used—such as toetoe, kareao (supplejack), and raupō—highlighting their place in our environment and their role in traditional Māori life.
The workshop is limited to 30 people each. Registration is essential. Hangi will be served to people who have registered
