No matter where you’re at in life, whether life is going great or it’s a bit difficult, it’s important to have a strong support network of people who can help you achieve your goals and provide support when you need it.

Here’s five different ways support networks can help you live a good life.

1. Provide support during difficult times

Life has its highs and lows. While it’s great to have people to celebrate with when times are good, it’s even more important to have people to support you when life is difficult. Having a strong support network means people being there to help you practically and encourage you mentally and emotionally.

2. Improve your mental health

Research has proven (external link) that having strong support network improves your mental wellbeing, and there’s a pretty simple reason for it—having people around you to support and encourage you makes life less lonely and more rewarding.

3. Help you grow and achieve your goals

If you have goals you want to achieve, having a good support network can help you reach them. You can share your goals, get support to achieve them, and check-in with people to make sure you stay on track.

4. People to turn for advice

Sometimes we have to make difficult decisions—when we do, it’s good to have a strong support network of people to get advice from.

5. Better physical health

This one is a pretty awesome benefit – support networks can help improve your health. According to the Mayo Clinic (external link) , social isolation and loneliness is associated with greater risk of cardiovascular issues and other health problems. Strong support networks can help lower your blood pressure (by lowering stress) and by having people around you to encourage you to live a healthy life
