How do you find shopping at the supermarket? Share your thoughts on what works well and what you reckon they could improve on in future store design.
Our friends at disability-focused creative agency All is for All (the people we worked with on our Firstport photoshoot), are inviting disabled people, family members and support people to take their online survey.
Here is the link to the survey (external link)
We caught up with Rebecca from All is for All to find out more.
What prompted the survey to be made?
"We are working with a supermarket retailer that has asked us to gather insights about disabled peoples' in-store supermarket shopping experiences. They want to use the feedback to help make their stores and processes more accessible in the future. The survey is one method of engagement and we have also conducted focus groups and will be doing workshops in the new year.
A range of disabled people with various lived experiences have been involved in informing the work and testing our engagement methods so we know we get it right for our community."
Can you tell us more about what to expect with the survey itself?
"The survey involves a series of multi choice and short answer questions, designed to give us and overview of the experiences and challenges that disabled people have shopping in-store at supermarkets. Many of these challenges have been well publicised.
The survey has five parts with questions about your shopping experiences, including how you shop and what makes shopping easier or harder. There are
questions that ask about you; this is at the end, and it is optional to ensure we respect people's privacy. We won't ask for personal information unless you want to share it.
People that take part in the survey and give their email address at the end will go into the draw for a $200 voucher. You can choose whether or not to enter to win and if you do, we'll only keep your email address for the Monday 23 December draw and then delete it.
As this is an online survey, open until Friday 20 December and anyone from the disabled community in Aotearoa New Zealand can participate."
What will happen after you collect the results?
"All is for All will develop an insights report that will pull together all the themes from the data we collect. From here we'll provide recommendations and future actions our client can take into their stores to make changes that will increase accessibility for our local disability communities.
We're really pleased at the phenomenal response we have received so far!"
