The Government is developing an Equitable Transitions Strategy to make sure that Aotearoa New Zealand’s transition to a high-wage and low-emissions future is equitable and inclusive. The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment and the Ministry of Social Development want your help to shape this transition.
There may be disabled people that you work with who would like to share their views on this. More details about the engagement sessions and why they are important can be found below. Please feel free to send them this invitation.

Why is this important?
Climate change is having a more regular and severe impact on communities. One way Aotearoa New Zealand works to prevent climate change is by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This will bring changes to how you, your whānau, and your community live and work.
Transitioning to a high-wage and low-emissions future will bring opportunities, including higher-wage jobs, as well as challenges, such as job losses, re-training for low-emissions work, the potential for rising costs for energy, food and transport, as well as changes to how we get around. Some people and communities will be affected more than others.

Have your say on this new future
We will be running engagement sessions around the country, with dates and locations below. The purpose of these sessions is to ensure the transition is fair and inclusive. The aim is to understand how you feel these changes will impact you, and how to maximise the positive impacts they could have on disabled and Deaf communities around the country.
Efforts will be made to make sure all the sessions are accessible, including those for the general public and iwi. All is for All will be hosting sessions exclusively for the disabled community to contribute. You can tell us about your accessibility needs in the registration form or by emailing us.
About us
This project is being led by Te Amokura, who is working with All is for All and Bright Sunday to deliver the engagements. Together, our goal is to ensure we gather the thoughts of a broad and diverse range of people and communities.
