The Enabling Good Lives Social Club in conjunction with Tiaho Trust will be celebrating the International Day of People with Disabilities in joining the Whangarei Xmas Parade and then the EGL Social Club will be having a Disco in the evening.
We invite anyone with a disability, family, friends to join us in the parade. It is free for us. Things you need to know:
- Date: 30th November 2024
- Time: Roads will be closed at 9.30am so you will need to find a park either at Forum North or Kowhai Court Suite both in Rust Avenue.
- Where do we congregate to go join the parade: Alexander Street (off Rust Avenue) – No later than 10.30am
- Parade starts: 11:00am
We have been given special dispensation for turning up at 10.30am everyone else has to be there hours before. This is for walkers, scooters and wheelchairs, whanau and friends welcome.
The parade route will be from Rust Ave across Bank Street down Rathbone Street turning right into Roberts Street up John Street to the CBD Mall finishing in James St with the prizegiving held in the Mall post parade.
It is expected that you join in with the Xmas theme and dress up scooters etc.
