Tuatapere Scenic Reserve Loop Track is in the centre of Tuatapere Domain. The track goes through an ancient forest of podocarp and beech trees representing the ancient forests that would once have covered much of the Waiau Valley.

The track will take you through diverse bush containing tree ferns and fuchsias as well as other towering podocarps like mātai and kahikatea to a thousand-year-old tōtora tree almost 2.5 metres in diameter.

This loop is a well-maintained gravel track suitable for wheelchairs and most people regardless of age and fitness.

There are several access points to this walking track. The main entrance is signposted on the west side of the Waiau River bridge on Elder Drive, Tuatapere.
