A large playground has plenty for the kids to enjoy, and there's lots of grass space for a picnic.
Have fun on and in the ocean with a kayak, paddle board or a swim. At low tide you can access the full length of the beach. We don't have lifeguards so you need to be careful with any water activities.
The nearby Takapuna Beach boat ramp provides access for other water activities.
To check for live information on water quality and safe swimming conditions at this beach, see the Safeswim website (external link) .
Follow the Takapuna Beach Path (external link) along the beach. If you'd like a longer walk follow the Takapuna to Devonport Path (external link) .
What does the venue say?
Takapuna Beach Reserve has something for everyone, including a staggering view of Rangitoto Island. There are benches, lounge chairs and hammocks for you to relax with a book or listen to the sound of the waves.
