Borland Nature Walk

This is an easy walking track, offering a loop track and self guiding brochure - a great activity for families. The track is wheelchair accessible until the bridge.

From the Borland Lodge head towards the Borland Road gate, where you will find signs for the start of the walk.

The walk leads through gentle Fiordland forest with a variety of plant types, quite a few small bush birds and a picturesque creek.

This walk starts from Borland Lodge (Borland Road), in Monowai, Fiordland.

Lake Monowai and the Borland Road are located about 67 km from Te Anau (1 hour), and 120 km from Invercargill (1 hour 45 min) and can be accessed via the Southern Scenic Route.

What does the venue say?

Wheelchair accessible for part of the track to swing bridge (40 minutes return). All-weather surface. This track starts opposite Borland Lodge (signposted).
