Three disabled creatives & allies will participate in a panel discussion to share their stories and how their creative work & projects, reflect & promote inclusion.

Rodney Inclusive Communities Inc. (RICI) is excited to launch Creative Convergence 2024, a week-long inclusive arts initiative celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD).

The highlight is the Speakers Event on December 3rd, a pop-up gathering showcasing local talent, encouraging diverse expressions, and promoting public participation.

RICI aims to foster meaningful dialogue and connections between disabled and non-disabled artists, while also enhancing understanding and acceptance of diversity within the broader community.

Who is Rodney Inclusive Communities Inc. (RICI)

Rodney Inclusive Communities Inc. (RICI) is a community-based organisation in the Rodney District, north of Auckland, NZ. They promote inclusion & accessibility, celebrate diversity, and support the wellbeing of disabled people and their families.

Their kaupapa is based on the Enabling Good Lives approach and principles. Building inclusive communities benefits all New Zealanders. Disabled people should be supported to live an everyday life in everyday places; and regarded as full citizens with opportunities for learning, employment, having a home and family, and social participation - just like others at similar stages of life.
