Recreate NZ is a down to earth, youth focused, family orientated charitable trust that is offering positive development and out of home experiences for children, youth and young adults with primarily intellectual disabilities, aged between 10-35 years. Over the years, Recreate NZ has grown nationally to offer over 500 individual programmes in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Christchurch and Wellington. Many in our community are able to access our programmes through Carer Support and Individualised Funding. Programme payments through these funding options are considered a contribution to the costs of delivering direct support work, and expenses that were a necessary part of supporting the disabled person while on programme.
To become part of Recreate and our programmes, an online registration form will need to be completed by all parents or caregivers of their young person. All this information is important for us to get to know your young person, and to ensure we facilitate high quality and safe programmes.
Once completed, we will organise a phone call and/or a face-to-face meeting to talk about Recreate further. We can then look at what programmes are coming up that look of interest and get the ball rolling!
We release our programmes on a termly basis for all our five regions, and in turn we accept booking requests from our community. As spaces are limited due to our transport and leader allowances, as well as popular demand, we cannot guarantee every requested programme.
