Tony standing up to sing

Introducing this weeks Hero!

Hi, I’m Tony and I have been here at Scopze at DRC since January 2018.

For me, actions (and waiata and songs!) speak louder than words, but even so, I’ve sat down with Allen and Stephen to talk about my time here, and the things I really love doing at DRC.

You probably already know that music is something that is truly part of me. I can break into song at any moment, so you’d better be ready to join in!

I take part in vocal training with Jo every week, and during this time I get to try out different instruments, including trying my hand at different forms of percussion.

I am a leader in our DRC Kapa Haka group, I feel very comfortable sing in te Reo Māori, and I can take the lead, solo, and set the tone right from the start.

I also like getting out and taking part in activities like golf and ten pin bowling. We’re getting coaching at the moment from golf professionals at the Hastings Golf Centre, so I’m concentrating on learning all aspects of the game. In addition to this, I enjoy playing mini golf, and practicing on the driving range with Allen.

DRC is a place where I feel very comfortable, and a place when I love to join in activities and have fun. Next time I feel like breaking into song, why don’t you join me?!
