Introducing this weeks Hero!

Hi, I am Kiel, and this is my story in my own words.

I joined DRC in 2007. When I first arrived at DRC, I had a problem with social skills. I was looking forward to making new friends and learning to do more things for myself.

Since starting I have met a lot of amazing people. I have learned social skills and life skills. I do my radio show on radio Kidnappers with the support of Parvesh, my coordinator. I get a lot of help and support from Parvesh and my whānau.

I have also joined ten pin bowling, which I love. My greatest achievement so far is my radio show, and I am very proud of it. I started with help but now I can do it all on my own. The other staff at the Radio Kidnappers and DRC say I am very helpful, and they are proud of me too.

Now that I am independent, I want to continue with my ten pin and my radio show. I am quite happy with what I am doing.

Thank you, Kiel
