Living life connected - Sunday Superhero - Charmaine
Introducing Charmaine, our DRC Hero for this week!
Charmaine's plan - work independently, work on fitness, work on a budget.
Hi I am Charmaine, this is my story in my words.
I Joined DRC at the end of 2018.
When I first arrived at DRC I had lost my mum and was going through many life changes.
I was looking forward to making new friends and learning to do more things for myself.
Since starting I have met a lot of amazing people, I have learnt to cook yummy recipes and budgeting skills with the support of my coordinator Parvesh and my whanau, I have joined Kapa Haka which I love.
The thing I am most proud of is my Volunteer job at the FANTASTIC Cranford Hospice opp shop, I started with help but now I can do it all on my own, the other staff say I am very helpful.
Next in my journey I want to get work ready so I can get a job, become more independent, and save money so I can go see my whanau around NZ.
