On this page you can find out about some of the organisations that can help you find a job. 


Workbridge is the largest employment service in New Zealand for people with a disability or health condition. 

It has employment consultants in 22 centres around New Zealand who help people with disabilities find jobs. 

They also work with employers and workplaces to support the inclusion of disabled people in the workforce. 

To get help from Workbridge, you need to: 

  • be 16-64 and live in New Zealand 
  • be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident 
  • experience a disability or health condition lasting six months or longer 

Once you’re enrolled, Workbridge can help you to: 

  • identify your work goals 
  • write a CV 
  • prepare for interviews 
  • find a job 

New Zealand Disability Support Network (NZDSN) 

The NZDSN lists other agencies that can help you with employment support. You can search for organisations in your region. 


Workwise is an employment agency for people experiencing personal or health challenges, including mental health and addiction. They can help you if you want to return to work after experiencing mental illness. 

They have offices in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Manawatu, Wairarapa, Wellington and Christchurch. 

CSS Disability Action 

If you’re aged between 16 and 65 and you’re not in school and want to get a job, CSS Disability Action may be able to help you. 

They offer employment support in these areas: 

  • East Coast (including Gisborne) 
  • Whanganui 
  • Taranaki 
  • Nelson/Marlborough 
  • Canterbury 
  • Otago 
  • Southland 

Blind Low Vision NZ 

Blind Low Vision NZ offer employment support to people who experience vision challenges. 

They can also help you if you’re experiencing vision loss and you want to keep your current job. 

Deaf Aotearoa 

If you’re Deaf or hard-of-hearing, Deaf Aotearoa can work with you to: 

  • find a job or remain in your job 
  • apply for Workbridge funding 
  • connect with others 
  • look at study or training options 
  • establish your goals 

Veterans’ Affairs 

If you’re a military veteran, the Veteran Rehabilitation Strategy could help you stay in work. 

You could be eligible for a Work Plan, which involves Veterans’ Affairs working with you to achieve your goals.
