Getting priority assistance for grocery shopping
During this period of lock down due to COVID-19, supermarkets and other food services are facing massive demand for their online services.
Apply for priority assistance at Countdown
To ensure people most at risk get served first, Countdown has launched a Priority Assistance Service. This is important for people who have no other way of receiving their groceries.
To be eligible for priority assistance, you should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be over the age of 70
- Have a chronic illness such as respiratory condition, heart condition, high blood pressure, kidney problems and diabetes
- Be in self-isolation after returning from travel or coming into contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19
- Have a disability
To apply for priority assistance, you have to fill out the online application. If you can't do this yourself, you can get a friend or family member to do it for you.
